The Programs Committee meets monthly to plan the monthly speaker series webinars. Help is needed in brainstorming topics, securing speakers, and promoting the events.

Generate, create, and schedule posts on the AFFIRM social media platforms for upcoming events. There are normally 1 - 2 events monthly. Each consists of 2 - 3 posts.

These in-person events take place in a casual setting where government and industry attendees can socialize, network, and make new connections. Join this committee to develop discussion topics and recruit sponsors and a joint panel of government and industry speakers.

Recruit and retain Sustaining Partners, which are the organization's primary sponsors. Help to identify potential Sustaining Partners. Conduct outreach to increase industry participation and attendance.

Recruit and retain government members and coordinate with the Communications team for outreach and awareness to government agencies to increase government membership and attendance.

Identify and recruit sponsors for various programs, including Speaker Series, Golf and Tennis Tournament, Leadership Awards, and After Hours. Review sponsorship packages and benefits. Work closely with Sustaining Partners on industry engagement efforts.

Help with the planning and execution of our largest scholarship fundraiser, the annual AFFIRM golf and tennis tournament, which is held in the Fall. Committee members help secure sponsorships, discuss the format and activities for the day, and conduct outreach to encourage registration.

Plan the AFFIRM Annual Leadership Awards. Committee members help with securing nominations, reviewing the nominations, securing sponsorships, planning the event, and conducting outreach to encourage registration.

Evaluate scholarship applications, organizations, and institutions in the AFFIRM scholarship and grants program. Maintain contact with grant/scholarship recipients and maximize their exposure to and participation in AFFIRM activities. Also, plan events targeted at the future workforce, including the Federal IT Career Workshop.
